Sweden: Data Protection Authority Releases Report on Personal Data Incidents for 2018

On March 5, 2019, the Swedish data protection authority (Datainspektionen) released its first report on personal data incidents as reported to the authority in 2018. The reporting obligation is established in the General Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applies to all organisations, either public or private, that process personal data.

Further to this obligation, as of August 1, 2018, a corresponding notification obligation for law enforcement authorities was introduced in the Swedish Criminal Data Act.
