Slot Tax Fix, iGaming Expansion On Pennsylvania Senate Radar

A Pennsylvania Senate leader said Thursday that he would consider supporting legislation that would restore a tax on slot machine revenue that casinos pay to their host communities and legalize Internet gambling.
In late September, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down the slot tax in question, known as the local share assessment, after finding that it fell afoul of uniformity provisions in the state constitution.
The court gave lawmakers 120 days to fix the voided tax that was enacted in 2004.
