New York lawmakers may consider bringing casinos to the Big Apple earlier than expected if New Jersey voters approve a plan to allow two gambling resorts to North Jersey this November.
New York state Senator John Bonacic suggested he would be open to discussing moving up the expected timeline for casinos in the Big Apple if the North Jersey casino plans come to fruition.
“If New Jersey voters were to approve a referendum to put casinos in northern New Jersey, we would have to evaluate the potential impact of those casinos at that time,” Bonacic, the chairman of the Senate’s Racing, Wagering and Gaming Committee, told GamblingCompliance.
