Louisiana To Review Riverboat Casino Laws

In the interest of growing a profitable riverboat gambling industry, Louisiana lawmakers have created a task force to review the state’s 25-year-old riverboat casino laws.

The Louisiana Riverboat Economic Development and Gaming Task Force will spend 18 months taking testimony from interested parties on ways the state’s riverboat casino laws can be changed to reflect changing consumer tastes and environmental concerns.

The task force will be chaired by Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Jones and consist of the ten members including four representatives from the Louisiana House and Senate, governor’s office, the state police and the attorney general’s office.
