Peru’s recent successes in submitting slot machine and casino operators to more stringent technical regulations should serve as a model to other Latin American jurisdictions, according to the president of the Peruvian Gaming Association. Other countries in the region are already following Peru’s plans to introduce an interconnected online monitoring system for all gaming machines.
Speaking at the first annual Latin American Gaming Operator’s Meeting, held as part of the ELA gaming exhibition in Monterrey, Mexico last week, Constante Traverso, president of the Peruvian Gaming Association (APEJA), said that the wider Latin American gambling industry had much to learn from the Peru’s regulatory experience.
