West Virginia’s top gaming regulator said Thursday he is “very optimistic” that two mobile sports-betting applications will launch in the state next week in time for the beginning of college football season.
The mobile application launch could come a full year after the first land-based sportsbook began accepting wagers and follows months of concerns and changes based around federal Wire Act concerns held by regulators that have since been addressed.
