Wave Of Coronavirus Casino Closures Hits Latin America

Governments across Latin America are following the lead of their European and North American counterparts by enforcing blanket closures of their casinos and gaming halls to slow the spread of COVID-19.

On Monday, Chile’s casino authority issued a decree requiring the shutdown of the country’s two-dozen casinos starting midnight on Wednesday, in the latest in a series of steps being taken by regulators to address an escalating public-health emergency in the region.
