Vietnamese Government 'Forced' Silver Heritage Casino To Shutter Gaming Tables

The Silver Heritage Group-managed Phoenix International Club casino near Hanoi was shut down in its entirety by its owner after the Ministry of Finance (MOF) ordered local officials to stop live gaming table operations, a Vietnam gaming expert has said.

Stellar Management Corp president Augustine Vinh today told the iGaming Asia Congress in Macau that the central government intervened to force the Phoenix casino to comply with a ban on live gaming tables in non-resort hotels.

The property in Bac Ninh Province, east of Hanoi, is operating with a grandfathered provincial government licence that fell foul of subsequent national legislation restricting live tables to integrated resort-style properties, Vinh said.
