Finnish gambling monopoly Veikkaus has acknowledged failings in responsible gambling and promised changes that are expected to reduce profit by €150m to €200m per year, but it will focus on online gambling to help compensate.
Veikkaus will bring forward compulsory gaming machine identification and remove more machines than originally planned, alongside reductions and reforms to its marketing programmes, the company said on Thursday in Helsinki.
The announcements intensify the impact of previous announcements, which the company had previously set at an annual cost of €100m to €150m.
