GamblingCompliance spoke to Arch Gleason, World Lottery Association president and chief executive of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation, about the legal and political hurdles facing US state lotteries which are looking to expand their games to the internet. Legal concerns over federal laws including the 1961 Wire Act have, to date, limited the US lottery sector’s online presence to sales of lottery ticket subscriptions in just three states.
