US Military Cracks Down On Korean Machine Abuses

U.S. Forces in South Korea are investigating accusations that Korean nationals have been allowed widespread access to slot machine gambling facilities on their bases in South Korea. The U.S. Army and Air Force generated more than $83.6 million in revenue from their South Korean machines last year. US Forces South Korea (USFK) said this week that it had begun implementing tough new rules to prevent illegal gambling and attendant loan sharking, from slot machines at military bases. As of January 20 all Army bases in South Korea were ordered to begin checking IDs for anyone in gaming rooms.
