The Australian arm of Malta-based online gaming platform Unibet has been fined A$25,000 ($17,000) for offering illegal gambling inducements on its website and in an online newspaper promotion.
Unibet-controlled Betchoice, which trades as Unibet, was convicted of violating gaming laws for the second time on Monday.
The decision, handed down in Sydney's Downing Centre local court in New South Wales (NSW) state, is the latest in a long series of prosecutions that have targeted most leading corporate bookmakers this decade, and two more prosecutions are on the way, GamblingCompliance has learned.
