Ukrainian President Raids Illegal Gambling Halls In Revenge Over Legislative Failure

The Ukrainian attorney general’s office has forcefully closed 911 illegal gambling establishments over the past few weeks, after the President cryptically blamed gambling industry lobbying efforts for failure to gain lawmaker approval for his high-profile gambling reforms.

According to the prosecutors office, the latest crackdown saw“ 437 criminal proceedings initiated, within which the prosecutor's office conducted nearly 1,200 searches, seized 11,600 pieces of gambling and computer equipment”, including cash.
