Gambling companies that utilise virtual and augmented reality to keep players engaged will face greater scrutiny from regulators in the coming year, experts say, as UK lawmakers begin a major study of technology addiction.

The immersive and addictive technologies inquiry by the UK’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) Committee will examine the development of these immersive technologies and how they could apply to the worlds of gambling, sport, entertainment and news.
