UK Regulator Defends Consumer-First Gambling Crackdown

The UK Gambling Commission confirmed its get-tough enforcement policies on Wednesday, and defended its consumer-first focus against claims it was exceeding its powers and hastening “regulatory creep”. 

In a policy signposted last November, the commission has now implemented higher penalties for licensing violations, particularly where it finds “systemic and repeated failings”.
