UK Operator Pays £100,000 For Not Fixing Misleading Ad

The UK Gambling Commission handed an online bingo and casino operator a £100,000 penalty after it did not fully comply with orders by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to stop running a misleading bonus promotion.

Dublin-based Broadway Gaming agreed to pay the six-figure sum in lieu of a financial sanction after the Gambling Commission found “similar failings” in advertisements months after the ASA ordered the company to stop running an ad.

In June 2016, the ASA upheld a complaint against a “Deposit £10, play £35” promotion on the operator’s site, which it said did not include significant conditions for the promotion.
