UK Government Considers Restricting Gambling With Credit Cards

The UK is considering whether to restrict gambling by credit cards, the new minister for sport and civil society said on Wednesday.

“This is an area we are looking into in detail to understand the full situation and to consider if action in this space is needed,” said Mims Davies, the minister responsible for gambling in the UK government.

She was speaking at a GambleAware conference in London about the role of diversity in preventing gambling harm.

GambleAware, an industry-funded charity, recently announced it has funded a second gambling addiction-focused National Health Service clinic in Leeds, to match its current London location.
