Top UK Gambling Commission executives like the "direction of travel" of the GVC chief executive's recent call for a ban on televised sports-betting adverts, but think concerns about direct marketing and push notification could be put on the agenda.

GVC CEO Kenny Alexander caused a stir last week with a promise to increase spending on research education and treatment, offer gamban blocking software to customers who request it, and end shirt sponsorship and match-side electronic billboard advertising deals.
