The UK’s decision to elect a majority Conservative government has provided the gambling industry with short-term relief from the advertising restrictions and online stake limits proposed by the major opposition parties.
But the major piece of regulatory uncertainty in the UK remains, as a review of the country’s primary gambling legislation appears to be imminent.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s election success has ensured that his main opposition, Labour, which promised advertising restrictions and unspecified “gambling limits”, will not be in power.
