Tighter Slots Regulations Accompany Holland Casino Tax Hike

Wary of how doubling taxes on casino games could be interpreted by the European Commission in Brussels, the Dutch Government has promised to enhance player protection standards by introducing stricter regulations for slot machines.The First Chamber of the Dutch Parliament yesterday approved the Government’s proposal to replace the 16 percent VAT currently levied on slot machine games with a flat-tax rate of 29 percent on all machine and table game revenue in Dutch casinos.
