Switzerland Readies Poker Crackdown After Skill Game Verdict

Swiss gaming regulators have confirmed that poker tournaments will only be permitted in licensed casinos after the country’s Federal Supreme Court sided with casino operators in finding the game of Texas Hold ‘em to be one of chance and not skill.The Swiss Commission Fédérale des Maisons de Jeu (CFMJ) said it would be “examining the implications” of the decision, made public yesterday, of Switzerland’s highest court to overturn the regulator’s previous determination of the game and outlaw Texas Hold ‘em tournaments outside of federally-licensed casino venues.
