The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) is seeking to crack down on unlicensed operators, as it grapples with concerns they are operating in the country with few consequences.
The regulator said that it will target unlicensed operators that have websites in Swedish, offer deposits, withdrawals and jackpots in Swedish krona, have terms and conditions and customer services in Swedish, or if their affiliates target Swedish players.
The SGA (Spelinspektionen) said it is moving to thwart unlicensed gambling to protect tax revenue and advance player protection.
