Swedish online gambling operators may pitch new affordability checks to avoid deeply unpopular deposit and bonus limits imposed by the government becoming permanent.
Planned Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) meetings this winter on gambling operators' duty of care to customers would be a "brilliant opportunity" to raise the prospects of individual checks to ensure gamblers can afford their spending, said Gustaf Hoffstedt, secretary general of the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS).
