Sweden Proposes Bet Ban On Red Cards, Double Faults

The Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) has proposed banning bets on red and yellow cards, penalty kicks and double faults in tennis, as part of an effort to curb match-fixing.

Bets are to be disallowed on penalty kicks, penalties, losses of match or misses on goal, or other "negative" events, the regulator said.

Swedish industry executives say they find the moves unnecessary and potentially harmful.
