Suspect Italian Operator Defying Malta Ban, Say Reports

Italian investigative journalists have claimed that a gambling company with alleged Mafia ties continues to operate from Malta even after its licence was revoked by the regulator.

Information published by the Investigative Reporting Project Italy (IPRI) claimed that Maltese bookmaker Leaderbet continued to offer into Italy from a base in Malta even after its parent company LB Group was stripped of its licence in February.

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) filed a police enquiry into Leaderbet last month to acquire information about whether the company was still undertaking gambling activities on the island.
