Sports Betting In Connecticut – It's Complicated

Connecticut’s legislature returns to work Wednesday with a number of new lawmakers and a new governor taking office, but the issue of whether or not to legalize sports betting remains near the top of the agenda.

Prior to last May’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Connecticut lawmakers considered but did not pass a bill to authorize sports wagering, and then failed to reconvene in a special session to readdress the issue, despite outgoing Governor Dannell Malloy saying he was willing to call one within hours of the decision.
