The Kansas Senate has passed a sports-betting bill favorable to the state’s casinos, setting up a clash with a competing House measure that envisions a broader role for the state lottery and major sports leagues.
Senators voted 23-15 on Wednesday to pass Senate Bill 283 after a marathon debate on the Senate floor, meeting a February 27 deadline for the bill to pass out of the chamber or expire.
