The President of South Africa has given the green light to corruption investigators to look into allegations of the misuse of charity funds by the country’s National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

President Cyril Ramaphosa, whose ruling African National Congress (ANC) party has been criticised by political opposition for inaction over the allegations in the past, signed the proclamation on October 20 and it was published in the state gazette on November 6.
