Second Tribal Lawsuit Filed Over California Cardrooms

Three Native American tribes have filed a federal lawsuit against the state of California claiming it has violated state law, tribal-state compacts, and a constitutional amendment granting tribes exclusive right to operate house-banked card games.

The lawsuit filed Thursday in the Eastern District Court of California in Sacramento claims Governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, and state gaming regulators have not enforced state law banning banked card games from occurring at card rooms in the state.
