The Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs has scrapped plans to expand the country’s gambling blacklist, but campaigners fear that other ministries may yet resurrect the controversial project.
Under the original plan, the expanded list of blocked websites would have covered all online content that contravenes Polish law and granted various ministries and institutions the power to freely add to it.
It was to have been built on the Ministry of Finance’s existing register of illegal gambling sites, which currently contains around 2,500 entries.
