Schleswig-Holstein Gambling Act Repeal Delayed, Critiqued by European Commission

The European Commission last week critiqued Schleswig-Holstein’s proposed repeal of its online gambling laws, and Malta and the UK took issue with it, steps that have delayed the German state’s plans to revoke its rules for another month. 

Schleswig-Holstein is now not allowed to vote on its draft legislation,which would let it join the other 15 German states in more restrictive rules, until after January 7. The Maltese and EC interventions have foiled the state parliament’s plans to vote on the repeal this week.
