A growing political acceptance of online betting in Russia will allow foreign companies to challenge the market dominance of Russian bookmakers, according to one Moscow-based lawyer.
"The big story [right now] in Russia is that the legal and functional basis for operating online bookmaking is getting stronger," said Michael Malloy, an American lawyer who has spent more than 25 years in Russia.
Malloy, head of IP and technology with DLA Piper in Moscow, was speaking at an event organised by his firm in London on Monday.
