Bordered by six states that do not allow sports betting, Iowa is primed for a huge payday on Sunday when 18 of its 19 casinos will take bets on the Super Bowl for the first time.
One of those border states is Missouri, which is home to the Kansas City Chiefs who will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54 Sunday in Miami.
“We expect a lot of people from Missouri and the other border states to come into Iowa and establish accounts and get their mobile apps to bet on the game,” said Wes Ehrecke, president and CEO of the Iowa Gaming Association.
