A letter made public this September that outlines a commitment from 16 gambling regulators to address loot boxes and social gaming might be no more than a "toothless tiger", suggested a group of leading gambling lawyers.
The document, which was signed in the summer at a Gaming Regulators Europe Forum meeting, commits watchdogs including the UK Gambling Commission, the Washington State Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority to work together to address the increasingly "blurred lines" between gambling and video games.
