As esports betting continues its development from the niche offering of a few years ago to a product that now competes well within sports betting’s top ten markets, established bookmakers and international regulators are struggling to keep pace.
Speaking at the Betting on Sports conference, Rahul Sood, the CEO of esports-only betting platform Unikrn, said he has no faith in the ability of many long-standing market leaders to even set effective odds.
Sood revealed that he regularly receives calls from the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) to corroborate suspicious betting patterns on matches reported by ESIC’s traditional bookmaking partners.
