Racehorses Face Brexit Blockade

UK horseracing authorities have told members not to move horses internationally for at least the first two weeks after Brexit kicks in on January 1, 2021.

With less than two months before the UK leaves the European Union and still no transition deal in place, numerous industries across the continent are bracing for the impact of a no-deal exit.

In gambling, racing looks likely to be the sector most negatively affected, with the Thoroughbred Industries Brexit Steering Group warning racing bodies on Tuesday not to risk moving horses in the first few weeks of 2021.
