President Trump’s Supreme Court Nominee May Be Gaming Friendly

Less than two months after announcing the most important legal victory in the history of sports betting, the U.S. Supreme Court is on the verge of adding another justice who is likely to be sympathetic to the gambling industry.

Brett Kavanaugh, 53, wrote a decision favoring foreign gamblers exactly five years before President Trump nominated him on Monday night to be the next justice of the Supreme Court.

The July 9, 2013 ruling allows gamblers visiting the United States to deduct their losses before being taxed on their winnings.
