Playtech is set to announce it will be the new provider of poker, casino and bingo products to leading betting exchange Betfair.The news will be a coup for the UK-listed online gaming software supplier which late last year signed up William Hill. According to sources, the deal will have a material effect on Playtech’s earnings.
The nature of the deal will come as something of a surprise as it will likely entail the junking of Betfair’s own poker platform, which it acquired back in October 2005 when it bought the Danish technology firm Aglet and poker-platform supplier Poker Champs.
