Pennsylvania regulators will require all internet gambling servers to be located within the state to create a “fully intrastate gaming environment” in compliance with the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) revised opinion on the federal Wire Act.
On Friday, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) issued a two-page memo to its licensees giving them 30 days to clarify how their forthcoming internet gaming operations might be affected by the “significant restrictions” arising from the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel’s (OLC) new opinion on the Wire Act.
