A Manila court on Thursday granted two affiliates of international casino operator and hotelier Thunderbird Resorts Inc an indefinite injunction against attempts by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to shut them down ahead of their lawsuit against the gaming regulator.
The Regional Trial Court's "writ of preliminary prohibitory injunction" prevents PAGCOR from delivering and carrying out cessation orders against the affiliates, Eastbay Resorts Inc (ERI) and Thunderbird Pilipinas Hotels and Resorts Inc (TPHR), whose negotiations with the government over the alleged expiry of their licenses collapsed.
In the meantime the affiliates will proceed with legal action against PAGCOR.
