Paddy Power Betfair has confirmed it is in talks about a “possible combination” of its US businesses with daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator FanDuel to target the newly opened US sports-betting market.
The announcement is just a hint of the frenzied deal making that is likely to erupt following Monday’s decision by the US Supreme Court to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Act (PASPA) on grounds that it violated states' rights.
The London-based gambling company confirmed media reports that the two were in talks, but added that discussions were “ongoing”.
