Packer Rejoins Crown Board As Israel Bribery Probe Draws Closer

Crown Resorts’ leading shareholder James Packer has rejoined the company board despite a police bribery probe into his links to the Israeli Prime Minister.

Packer was re-appointed as a director of the Australian casino and hotel operator “following the receipt of a nomination by [Packer-controlled private company] Consolidated Press Holdings Pty Ltd, the major shareholder of Crown Resorts”, a filing with the Australian Securities Exchange said on Tuesday.

The announcement appears to bring Crown’s day-to-day Australian operations unambiguously back into Packer’s sights after a period of company upheaval and offloading of foreign interests.
