OPAP VLT Fix Rubber-Stamped By New Greek Government

A legislative fix to the regulatory problems surrounding OPAP’s lucrative video lottery terminal (VLT) network was passed last week in the Greek parliament, with the newly-installed New Democracy government pushing aside party rivalries to prioritise their business-friendly agenda.

With no objection, debate or disagreement from MPs, the Greek parliament last Thursday voted through Article 86 of the Ministry of Interior's legislation for digital governance and other emergency matters, a measure which includes a permanent solution to the legal problems that had stymied OPAP’s slot machine rollout.
