Casino-led online operators and suppliers including Gamesys, LeoVegas and Evolution Gaming ramped up their exposure to emerging markets outside Europe in 2019, offsetting reduced growth momentum in more mature regulated jurisdictions.
Mobile casino specialist LeoVegas published first-quarter results on Wednesday, adding to a generally upbeat interim earnings season as online operators deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
LeoVegas chimed with a number of its peers in seeing a “neutral-to-positive” impact from COVID-19 on its core online casino business, reporting significantly accelerated growth of 23 percent in April driven by channel shift from shuttered land-based operations.
