After sitting on the sidelines for a couple of months, a state Senate committee on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved daily fantasy sports (DFS) legislation in Ohio, moving it one step closer to a vote by the full Senate.
By a 9-1 vote, the Senate Finance Committee approved House Bill 132 and sent it to the Rules and References Committee, which could vote on the bill as early as Wednesday.
If approved by the rules committee, a vote by the full Senate is possible by the end of the day, a state representative told GamblingCompliance.
Republican state representative Jonathan Dever said besides minor tweaks, “the bill was still in a good place.”
