Norwegian Chess Group Rejects Controversial Kindred Deal

The Norwegian Chess Federation has voted overwhelmingly to reject a Kindred Group cooperation agreement after weeks of controversy, including the Norwegian Gaming Authority warning against the deal.

Members of the club’s congress voted on Sunday by a 3-1 margin, 132 votes to 44, to reject Kindred’s 50m krone (€5.17m) offer to promote chess in the country in exchange for their support of online gambling licensing.
