Norway’s Payment Blocks Fail To Deliver For Norsk Tipping

Norwegian monopoly Norsk Tipping says it has seen little benefit from the country’s payment ban on overseas gambling operators, despite enjoying 33 percent growth in its online revenues during 2010.

A report from the Norwegian Gaming Authority last month showed that even though Norway’s online players find it harder to use foreign sites, over half are still bypassing the payment blocks introduced last June.

Norsk Tipping yesterday confirmed the limited uplift it had seen from being the only unblocked operator and said that competition for online Norwegian players from its offshore rivals was still rife.
