Northern Ireland Consultation Backs New Gambling Regulation

Responses from Northern Ireland’s wide-reaching gambling consultation have been published, showing a depth of public support for a new independent regulator and a popular wish to strike out numerous restrictions, including a ban on casinos, even as some organisations oppose change.
In September, Department for Communities officials announced in a committee meeting that 93 percent of respondents to the consultation had supported the creation of an independent regulator.
