Nigerian Regulators Attempting To Entice International Bookmakers

Nigerian regulators are hoping that efforts to change its tax system, competitive technical standards, increased online enforcement and the country’s huge appetite for sports betting will be enough to lure foreign operators to its shores.

Speaking at ICE on Monday, Lanre Gbajabiamalia, director general of the national lottery regulatory commission and Remi Iwayemi, CTO of the Lagos state lotteries board, both spoke of the “incredible opportunities” currently available in Nigeria.

“Lottery games are getting a lot of interest locally, along with an already hugely motivated sports betting community. There are all the technical standards in place to help operators get their operations running,” claimed Iwayemi.
