Indian tribes should tread carefully when establishing partnerships for sports betting to ensure they remain in compliance with the federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), according to a National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) advisory bulletin published on Wednesday.
In its six-page advisory notice, the NIGC noted tribal casinos have several strategic options when it comes to participating in such a “data heavy industry that requires constant processing of a significant amount of sports related statistics.”
